Candida Silva (Amado), age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday March 8, 2020 at her home in Providence, RI. She was the daughter of the late Minnie and Domengo Amado. Candida was predeceased by 20 siblings, her loving husband Peter Silva, and sons Pedro and Joseph Silva. She is survived by 3 sons - Edwin Silva (Renee Silva), Myron Silva, Julio Silva (Karen Silva), and 3 daughters - Jenny Collins (Henry Collins), Elizabeth Silva, Tina Silva (Kenneth Reis), and daughter in law Ann Silva (wife of Pedro Silva), 42 grandchildren, 133 great grandchildren, 52 great great grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, very close friends, and last but not least her beloved dogs Remy and Rocky.

Candida lived a very full life and held her large family together with her golden heart. She opened her home and arms to anyone who needed a little love. She had so much love to give! She provided love and support to her family and countless others who became family. In her early years, she enjoyed going down the Cape to pick berries and was an avid volunteer of the Providence Head Start program for many years. She was a proud member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed bible studies with her grandchildren and friends. She was a great cook, and lucky for us, she passed her recipes down for us all to enjoy for years to come. She loved banana splits, outings with her grandchildren, and the company of her children, grandchildren, and friends. She was our “Gram” and Gram to many of the early east side families and will be truly missed. She has touched us all with her loving heart. Her light will continue to shine bright on all she loved. Rest peacefully sweet Gram. We love you forever and always.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15th from 2pm until 5pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln. A Funeral service will be held Monday at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
